Not really. But I did find myself asking this question the other night and looking up the answer. Never stop learning.

 

How was the scoring in tennis invented?

 

Wikipedia says that is was developed in medieval France. Possibly using a clock. Players advanced the clock 15, 30, 45, 60. When deuce (sounds french) was incepted, they changed it to 15, 30, 40 – where the clock hand moved to 50 on the first deuce point and then 60 (game win) on the second. Makes sense.
